Great food & Service. It was really packed. Get there early. One way in thru swinging downs just like a saloon. Sawdust covered floors, live music. Great food. Lots of neat things on the walls just to look at with a chuckle. I got cesar wrap came with a side of fries your choice or coleslaw, my Husband got a burger and THAT was the best bacon EVER. Highly recommend this restaurant. Loved the ladies outfits. It really takes you back to older times. Go give them a try you wont be disappointed

Atmosphere – 5 Stars Stepping into the Red Dog Saloon is like walking into the Old West. The place oozes character—sawdust on the floor, historical memorabilia everywhere, and a two-level layout with tables both downstairs and on a balcony overlooking the bar. There’s a lively energy throughout, complete with live entertainment from a piano player and singer that gives the place an authentic saloon feel. Service – 5 Stars The staff was dressed in period costumes, adding to the immersive, frontier-style experience. Our server was friendly, quick, and attentive—service couldn’t have been better. Food – 4 Stars The food was delicious and memorable. I had the McKinney Pork Sandwich, which came topped with coleslaw and provolone cheese on a toasted bun—easily one of the best pork barbecue sandwiches I’ve had. It was flavorful, perfectly balanced, and came with a bag of chips. We also tried the clam chowder, which was rich, hearty, and filled with chunky pieces of fish. Another highlight was the Nunivak Reindeer Sandwich, served on a toasted baguette with grilled onions and provolone cheese—a savory, hearty option that looked and tasted like a gourmet kielbasa sandwich. Overall The Red Dog Saloon is an experience as much as it is a meal. Between the historic atmosphere, engaging entertainment, standout service, and flavorful food, we had a fantastic time. Definitely a must-visit when in Juneau.

Fun place to stop, have a meal, do a duck fart shot, and see Wyatt Earp's pistol. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun. You get a sense of going back a couple of decades in time. Service was very good. Standard tourist prices but not crazy expensive. The food is quality and bang for the buck (money). If I visit Juneau, the Red Dog will be on my list to stop.

Off the tour nowt here in Juneau and heard good things about the Red Dog Saloon. Swing saloon doors greet ya with wood chips on the floor. Service was really good and beer was cold. We didn’t eat the food, but from what I saw, it looked appetizing.

When you are here, spend an hour and enjoy a duck fart. We had a great server who was very engaging. The pretzels and nachos were great, as was the beer. The whole time we were entertained by a great piano player who reminded us of our parents because he was in his 80s. He had no filter and we were constantly laughing at his comments. Go there, you will thank me when you do.

We tried this place thanks to recommendations from our tour guide and C.L. videos. Loved the story about how Juneau got its name allegedly influenced by the duck fart shots served at the Red Dog Saloon. I would have voted for Juneau after a duck fart shot!!!

The Red Dog Saloon is recommended by local tour guides, the line out the door, and the quirky interior. Good food at a reasonable price in downtown Juneau; we liked the salmon spread, shrimp basket, and reindeer sausages sandwich (unique flavor). Plenty to look at while you wait and fun live entertainment!

Enjoy the western -“Wild West” atmosphere with its sawdust floor and wild game decorated walls! The food is simple and tasty and the fish is real good. The music and the funny “recorded” guy is plain old West style. Yup step in take in the Wild West with a beer and a bite.

We originally just stopped to take a few photos from the outside and had no plans to go in. Later, while walking back, we decided to check it out so I could get a photo of the old gun display. I’m glad we did because the inside had a really cool atmosphere. They had sawdust on the floor, and the walls and ceiling were covered with decorations and memorabilia, so there was always something interesting to look at. The place was packed and very tight inside, so it is definitely not wheelchair friendly. Even with the crowd, the staff had the service down to being both fast and friendly. I honestly did not expect much from the food, but I was surprised by how good it was, especially for the price. We had the pulled pork, and it had a lot of flavor. The nachos also looked outstanding, although the portions seemed way too big for us to finish. I guess there is usually a long wait to get in, but we happened to walk right in without any problem. Overall, it is definitely worth stopping at, just do not waste your entire day waiting to get inside.
